Restoring Heritage: Windmill Project
Currently, we are proud to be working on a unique windmill restoration project. This challenging assignment combines traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques to preserve the historic character while enhancing functionality. Our team is carefully restoring timber structures, repairing masonry, and installing bespoke joinery that respects the original design. Every detail is approached with precision and care, ensuring the windmill remains both a landmark and a usable space. This project highlights our ability to manage complex builds that require specialist skills and a deep appreciation for heritage and quality workmanship. Victorian Greenhouse Renovation
This 32-foot Victorian greenhouse located in a Country Park in Nottinghamshire was starting to rot on the glazing bars and side windows. Both the customer and ourselves were committed to a sympathetic restoration using wood cut to the original pattern. It was an unpredictable piece of work, with the glazing bars and side windows all needed repairs and new wood. We used Accoya, an acetylated wood, which is extremely dimensionally stable and durable, with good resistance to the elements; perfect for this greenhouse. We stripped and sanded all the salvageable timber down and the entire timber structure painted in two coast of Zinsser primer and had two topcoats applied. Once complete we had a very happy customer who can once again enjoy their plants.
